Abstract
One of the things that undermine healthy social relationships is the dominance of a culture of boasting and showing off over these relationships. Boastful behaviors, which appear in different ages and cultures with different effects and forms, have found unprecedented diversity and multiplicity in today's societies owing to the growth of materialistic tendencies. Considering that the society of the age of revelation or the early period of Islam also suffered from this moral-social vice, the course of social relations changed from arrogance, supremacy and pride to humility, modesty and equality in the light of the teachings of the Qur'an. The present study uses a descriptive-analytical approach to examine strategies for treatment of boastfulness and pride from the perspective of the Holy Qur'an. Considering that man's insights and attitudes are the origin of all human conduct, the said strategies have been examined in connection with the human attitude and mindset. Also, due to the scientific position and socio-educational approach of Tafsir al-Mizan, Allama Tabatabai's views have been studied. Based on the findings of Quran research, human attitudes have been reformed in three areas: his attitude towards God, towards himself and towards creation. By introducing God as the true source of power, magnanimity and dignity, the Qur'an dissuades man from relying on and boasting over his own means and possessions. Also, man's consciousness and knowledge of his virtues and weaknesses not only frees him from attachment to material things, but it also protects him from arrogance. In the worldview of the Qur'an, the real value is not material possessions but faith and righteous deeds, and the life of the world is only a game with temporary roles and means. From the Qur'an's point of view, the benefits of the world are meant to test man only, so they have no intrinsic value.
