Abstract

One of the important elements of the social system of human life is the economy; it provides the necessary groundwork for securing a livelihood, and any ignorance regarding economic matters disrupts the social life system. Therefore, acquiring knowledge and economic skills, or in other words, economic education, is essential for individuals in society as one of the important dimensions of education.
The Islamic government is one of the most significant factors in education, and due to its capability, influence, and authority compared to other educational factors, it has a unique and effective role in the economic education of society. Hence, the main question of this paper is: What are the reasons for the government's responsibility in economic education from the perspective of educational jurisprudence? This paper attempts to answer this question through an ijtihad method. The main findings of this research include the obligation of economic education based on the rule of preserving the system and the necessity of ensuring social justice; the need for the government to utilize the best methods to realize the economic education rights of the people; and the proof of this obligation through the prohibition of enemy economic dominance over the affairs and fate of Muslims. In practice, the government is obliged to undertake various actions, among which the expansion of economic skills, resource management, and the protection of production resources are the most important.
